About Cross Farm Barn Holiday Cottages
Description
Cross Farm Barn Holiday Cottages are ideally situated in the market town of Holmfirth nestling in the stunning countryside of the Holme Valley. Easily accessed by all major road networks.
The Holme Valley is famous for its outstanding beauty, on the edge of the peak district and Pennine Hills. Holmfirth is the largest market town in the valley as immortalised in the long-running TV show, Last of the Summer Wine. It is also the backdrop for the popular Where the Heart Is. Both these programmes are filmed in the immediate surrounding areas of the Holme Valley.
The area has outstanding scenery, superb walks, high hills and green valleys, and is steeped in local history. Quiet, unspoilt villages lie in this picturesque valley where the visitor can find a variety of shops, country pubs, fine restaurants and cafe bars . The Holme Valley has excellent transport links making us easy to find. The M1 and M62 are half an hour's drive away and within an hour you can be in Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield or the historic City of York. Cross Farm Barn offers three very attractive, individual and stylish self catering cottages which have been sympathetically converted in recent years. The buildings were formerly a 17th century stone barn on a working dairy farm. The farm still exists today and is run alongside the accommodation. Two of our cottages sleep 4 people and boast a double room and a twin room, while our third cottage sleeps 2 (in a double room).
