We love this place. Excellent cocktails and the staff are fantastic. There were no seats left inside so we sat outside in the cold, they then opened downstairs just for us. How about that for customer service 👍

The Hourglass Bar is a clean and comfortable place where you can almost always find a seat, which is a big plus. The service is quick and efficient, making it a reliable choice for a relaxed drink or catch-up with friends. However, the ambience feels a bit unfinished—like they started decorating but didn’t quite follow through. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does leave you wishing for a bit more atmosphere to match the otherwise solid experience. Still, it’s a good spot with potential, and worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Lovely little bar with ample outdoor seating, as well as in. Lovely, very attentive staff and a nice range of beers and bottled beverages. The only downside and there's really not much that can be done about this, but the toilets!! The toilets are down a very deep staircase and there are three toilets! One ladies, one gentleman's and one unisex, and a disabled toilet upstairs. As there was a concert playing that evening, the pub was very busy and the queue to the toilets was insane. Definitely worth going though...Just don't wait till you're desperate before you go to the loo !!!

Great bar with great atmosphere. Was very busy but had plenty of staff on to ensure that queues were a no no. Excellent selection of beer. I had an IPA from SALT brewery. Good gin choices, all served with fresh fruit. Excellent pre-concert bar for Piece Hall
