We had a booking for 7 of us at 1pm, we ordered within 15 minutes for arriving at the venue and waited 1.5hr for the food to arrive… while waiting we was informed that the hand cut chips would be fries that’s fair enough these things happen. Around an hour in we asked regarding the food and was told the veg for the pies wasn’t available, this seemed a little weird as we would have been expected to be informed of this prior to ordering and paying for the food. Food eventually arrived most was cold and 5 out of 7 of the meals where wrong, fajita was a flatbread, hunters chicken was a chicken breast with some salad, beef burger which should have had salad and a house souse was a thin burnt beef burger with cheese and chips no salad or souse, the mac and cheese was macaroni pasta with cheese on top sat in oil, other issues continue with a few of the other meals with bits being cold or burnt. We complained and received a 20% refund due to part of the food being eaten, as I understand they sub contact the kitchen out, my suggestion would be to hire your own kitchen staff to ensure you can control the quality of food being served. Unfortunately due to the food I won’t be coming for food. As a pub was a reasonable atmosphere with the mystic not being to load.
I had my Birthday Bash here on May 10th 2025. Fabulous weather and an even better turnout of friends. Great selection of drinks, super clean, wide selections of flavoured Gins and superb food. It's probably the nicest bar in Halifax, capped off with live entertainment on a regular basis.
Felt like we come just as they had a lot of change regarding food and tills and it was causing a lot of issues. Pretty sure only teething problems and will be a superb place. Our food was lovely, decor and atmosphere great. Could easily stay for a few hours
Lovely vibrant bar, great range of drinks and fantastic venue. Spacious beer garden and cheery atmosphere. Staff were really attentive too, which always makes for a pleasant experience. Would highly recommend.
Now one of my favourite places in Halifax, the food was lovely. Sometimes there’s live music on a weekend. The owner (I presume) came over and talked to us about our food and how he appreciated us coming in. The staff are lovely! You can tell they’ve put a lot of effort into the place and it’s so welcoming. Be here everyday if I could
