Shimlas Halifax

We had Tandoori Tikka leg and Tandoori Roti. It comes with garlic mayo, sweet chilli dip and some salad. The meat was well cooked and freshly prepared. Everything was delicious and we were happy with the service.

I recently visited Shimlas and ordered the butter chicken, and it was a very disappointing experience. The dish tasted horrible – the chicken itself didn’t feel fresh and had an unpleasant taste. I’ve had butter chicken many times before in Bradford and Leeds, so I know what to expect, but this was nowhere near the standard. When I raised my concern with the staff, they were not at all helpful and simply told me, “that’s how it is.” This left me feeling ignored rather than valued as a customer. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a birthday lunch turned into a bitter experience. Waste of food and money.. Wouldn’t recommend based on this visit.

Absolutely fantastic. Welcoming environment - yes most come for takeaway but eating in is so comfortable. The curries are superb. We had a mixed starter then meat biryani, chicken tikka masala and a garlic naan - all so, so good, at least on a par with a top level Indian restaurant. Staff very attentive and efficient. Excellent quality all round.

I am writing to formally complain about my recent visit to your restaurant. During my visit, I selected and picked multiple different orders. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by the behavior of the front counter staff. The staff member who assisted me was extremely rude, impatient, and unprofessional. Instead of providing proper customer service, their attitude made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I believe customers should be treated with respect, regardless of the size or type of order. This experience does not reflect the level of service I would expect from a restaurant of your reputation. I hope you will take this complaint seriously and address the issue with your staff to ensure better customer service in the future. I look forward to your response.

It was our first time visiting Shimlas tonight and wow, we are completely blown away! The warm welcome that we received from Sabie as soon as we walked in, brilliant value for money and the gorgeous and fresh food was totally outstanding! Also, the mocktails are gorgeous! I definately recommend the strawberry mojito one. I have never met someone so smiley, genuine, passionate and helpful at a restaraunt as Sabie. We are so glad we discovered Shimlas tonight. Absolutely faultless. Shimlas is by far one of our new faves. We will definately be coming again! Thank you so much. Charlotte & Tom xoxox
