Late night treat while stranded in Halifax centre. Went for the large mixed gyro, decent value for money at ~£8, good clean kebab freshly prepared. Walked past plenty of times but usually a bit too early in the day so first time venturing inside. Only a couple of high chairs on both sides so definitely more of a late night/takeaway haunt but definitely did the job.
The only reason I didn't give this a five-star review for atmosphere is that it's a take-away. Clean, polite and helpful staff. I had the pork dönner - The pork was delicious. The pitta was nice and fresh and hot. The chips? Seasoned and delicious. The only cold part was the salad and the generous amount of Tzatziki – And since they're supposed to be cold, I was happy.
Best Gyros I’ve ever had.. and I’ve had them in Greece. Rapid service, stupendous price, unreal flavour. Don’t hesitate to visit here if you’re ever in Halifax. £7 for a gyros with so much flavour…. Just VISIT
I visited Apollonis in Halifax and was very pleased with the experience. I ordered the chicken gyros and it was absolutely delicious! The meat was cooked perfectly, with authentic Greek aromas and flavors. The portions were generous and everything was fresh. The service was quick and the staff very friendly. The clean and tidy environment complemented the experience. I will definitely be back again – I recommend it to anyone looking for good, quick food in Halifax.
I've used this takeaway before a couple of years ago. But I've used it recently and can honestly say that the portion size had dropped by at least a 3rd now they are established. . Better price and more food at Crarvies 50 metets past This place. Bigger portions, quicker service and cheaper prices. I've not enjoyed giving this review. But I'm always fair with my reviews. I'd show pictures of poor portions but it won't let me.....
