Anthony James Hair Salon - Halifax

I have Uber Uber uuuuber thick and difficult hair but somehow, Joanne just makes it look like a walk in the park! I always love how I look leaving the salon which is a feat in itself as my hair usually dictates a lot of how I feel. She’s very good at different and unusual techniques for thinning hair out and absolutely knows her stuff. A hairdresser you trust to do what you want and love is a true gem! Highly recommend. (And the coffee is spot on aswell) 😉

My first time ever and last at this salon, I went in today for a wash cut blowdry, friendly staff no issue with that. But the communication between the staff and client is very limited, i had to make a conversation a few times for it not to feel awkward. I have been so upset since i had my haircut, I asked for layers with face framings and for the length as shown in the images, he cut way too much of my hair than what i asked for. I asked if he can do same as pic and was told yes but no where near it, it was my first time so i was quite nervous and couldnt speak up about it much, but honestly i have had very long hair for over 5/6 years, i just wanted it freshened up and cut as told but he (Cammy) chopped it all off and seemed to be like he didnt know what he was doing with my hair, i also mentioned it’s gone way too short to what i said and ask his response was its still long. Can you see the haircut given (a standard stryt cut and gone so short-length) and not even how i asked for it(in image one yellow mark shown is how much i asked to take off, pink mark is wer he cut it till) (image no2 is the haircut he did, cut way more than what i asked for redmark is my hair length, nd yellow mark is where i wanted it cut till and as you can see where he cut it till) (image no3 is the inspiration pic as how i wanted it, and it is no where near that at all). Please avoid as it seems they do not understand a clients choice or how they want their hair styling/ cut.

I had a fabulous experience at Anthony James today. Laura really listened to what I wanted and took everything I said on board. Her attention to detail was brilliant - she was so precise and explained what she was doing at every step, which made me feel completely at ease. I love my new haircut and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!

My first time at this salon after going to the same stylist for over 30 years. I’ll definitely be back.! Jo and I discussed how I wanted my hair and she really listened and nailed it! Lovely company for an hour as well.

I really like Anthony James Hair Salon, the staff are all really kind and friendly and most importantly, highly skilled. I know every time I see Cammy I’ll be looked after and leave feeling very happy with my hair. Cammy is excellent at what he does and is always happy, cheerful and it is fun to have a conversation with him whilst he works on my hair, which makes me feel comfortable, especially being neurodivergent as sometimes I can feel anxious getting my hair cut.
