Ramsdens were great at getting me in my first home. Emma, Joe and Luke were extremely helpful and always got back to me quickly whenever I contacted them, very polite on the phone and in person, thank you so much!

I worked with Rachel and Cheryl at the Elland branch. They were excellent, usually answering any queries within the hour. They helped me sell my dad's house. It was a refreshing change from other solicitors I have worked with. I cannot recommend them enough.

Being somebody in the property business im well used to doing business with conveyancers having sold 4 properties in the last 4 years.on 1st Dec. 2024 I accepted an offer on a leasehold apartment, having already had a quote from Ramsdens I instructed them to proceed with the conveyancing, within 4/5 days I had completed all the forms, paid a disbursement fee, provided deeds and everything else that they needed to proceed. They said that they would contact Together Housing for the Leasehold pack and when they get a response about the fees they would contact me for the funds. When I hadn't heard anything from Ramsdens for 7 weeks I assumed the Leasehold pack had been paid directly by Ramsdens and forwarded to buyers solicitor and would be added to my bill at completion, but no on 29 Jan I was asked for £210 for the leasehold pack saying Together Housing had just got back to them regarding their request, making out it took them 7 weeks to respond,REALLY. I sent Ramsdens £210 to forward to Together Housing thinking things would progress nicely from now on. How wrong I was as 3 weeks later I rang and spoke to 'Emma' who said they had sent the payment on but had heard nothing yet, which turned out to be untrue as when I rang 1 week later this time speaking to 'Joe' I was informed that their accounts office hadn't informed them I'd forwarded £210 to them so they hadn't sent it on to Together Housing but had just done so that day. Today I was passing their new premises in Dean Clough so thought I get a further update, spoke to 'Joe'who was in reception and one of the people supposedly dealing with my property,he said he was too busy to look at the moment but would definitely email me later today to keep me up to speed. Yes you guessed it 'no email',glad I hasn't holding my breath. We're over 3 months in now and Ramsdens haven't even got the documents yet to send to the buyers solicitor. So what I'm advising is DO NOT,REPEAT DO NOT PICK RAMSDENS TO DO YOUR CONVEYANCING.Choose anybody but them as they will deceive, tell you untruths and definitely not stick to the speedy service they promise at the outset. What Ramsdens are unaware of is that a few of my properties are leasehold from Together Housing and im in regular contact with Rhian Williams Home ownership officer who confirms when and if Ramsdens have contacted them regarding my properties. I will continue adding to this post as things progress OR NOT. So watch this space

My wife and I used Ramsdens Halifax for conveyancing services for the sale of our old house and purchase of our new house. Our solicitors were very good throughout the process and were always very quick to answer any questions we had. Special mention to Luke who always replied to our queries promptly and really pushed for our purchase to go through when required. Also thank you to Emma and Joe for all their help. We would definitely recommend for conveyancing.

Be wary of using Ramsdens as financial deputy if your loved one's funds get near to the threshold below which a deputy cannot charge more than the fixed annual fee. Ramsdens Court of Protection(COP) team in Halifax have badly let down my mother for whom I am primary carer. I am in the process of asking various authorities on how to have them investigated for: - Not responding promptly to urgent request for critically needed equipment to prevent life-threatening heat exhaustion; - Ignoring questions about moving deputyship to a lower cost solicitor local to where we are now living, abroad, after telling me that Mum's funds are getting low so they need to tighten their belts; - Going on 'fishing trips' to find any excuse to pause large payments (including the equipment mentioned in first point): First they asked a barrister's opinion, who told them they should continue to fund care as if we were still in the UK, then instead of following the advice, going to ask someone else, whose suggestion of opening a case at the COP they seemed to prefer -- the COP can take years to consider cases, during which time their client would have died of heat exhaustion last summer if I had not personally funded the equipment needed to protect mum from the 40-degree plus temperatures that many elderly people have died of here I can only assume that Barristers do not give advice for free, so I would like an independent investigation to look into whether and how much they charged from Mum's funds that are under their care, and whether the Barrister in question is often given fees by our deputy, in other words whether there is some mutual back-scratching going on at clients' expense. UPDATE: Ramsdens have replied below that I am not their client. Given Mum's dementia this basically means Ramsdens are trying to avoid transparency about their work, knowing that Mum cannot sign any kind of power of attorney. Hopefully they won't be able to hide from auditors.
