The Book Stop

The Thoughtful Spot is a beautiful hidden gem, nestled in Halifax. It's jam packed with literature sitting on shelves ready to ignite the minds of young readers! Grant and Amy are both friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. We recently attended Storytime with Santa, and it thoroughly gave us the spark of christmas magic we needed this time of year. It was cosy and charming. All the children recieved a gift from Father Christmas; a book, appropriate for age/stage of each child. And we bought another Christmassy book to add to our collection - we couldn't resist! Further mention to Grant who we booked to attend our daughters birthday party. He was amazing. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening and singing along with Grant while he sang and played his ukelele! They also thoroughly enjoyed storytime. He gifted our daughter a book, which was chosen based on her current interests - this was back in October, and she still gets this book from her shelf to read, regularly! Win win! Overall, this is one of our favourite little spots in Halifax. It's an Alladin's cave of wonder and magic waiting to ignite your little ones minds! We wish we could visit more, and perhaps that'll be our new year's resolution!

Just popped in to say how wonderful it is that this shop works with the local community run library. Met Grant who likes to hide from the camera, together with Amy they run this lovely independent book shop. I left with 4 books!! That wasn’t the intention, but who can resist a good book. Support your local bookstore even when they don’t say Scone as in gone!! Jokes aside lovely store, and love that they have story times for the local kiddies!!

We love the Book Stop book shop. We come to the most amazing story and song time each week where Grant reads and sings with the children. It is half an hour of fun fun fun. Come along and join in the fun with your little one. Thank you Book Stop xx

Lovely children's bookshop providing an amazing selection of books for all age groups, with warm, friendly and very knowledgeable owners. I take my niece to the story time and singing session on a Friday morning and she gets so much out of it. A real asset for Skircoat Green!

What a gem of a place! A fantastic book shop for both children’s and adults. This was our first time coming to story time with Grant and it was amazing 🤩 100% lulled to sleep by the stories 😴
