My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint, lovingly restored cottage. The (re-) design and decor are tasteful and in keeping with the historical nature of the cottage. The kitchen is well equipped and modern, the living room is cozy (with a pullout sofa that we made use of), and the bedroom is an oasis of calm with a comfortable king bed, lots of room to store clothes, etc., and a beautiful view over the distant hills. Access to Halifax centre is also extremely easy and convenient via frequent buses. The host, Jane, could not have been more helpful. She was always available to answer our questions, and she provided a lot of valuable information about events and sights in Halifax and the region. She also thoughtfully supplied us with muesli, bread, butter, milk, cookies (fiery ginger chocolate--my new favourite cookie!) and other essentials, so we we wouldn't have to rush to a grocery store upon arrival. All in all, an amazing stay, the best so far of my long trip throughout the UK and Europe.

Beautiful, comfortable and cosy cottage. Immaculately clean and fully equipped. Jane, the owner, is very friendly, informative and has great attention to detail. The cottage is as you see in the photos but more spacious than expected. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom underfloor heating a definite bonus and the log effect gas fire made the sitting room very cosy. Would not hesitate to recommend Dyer's Cottage to friends and family and would definitely book to stay again on our next visit to Halifax.

This adorable cottage was my “home away from home” while visiting last September. The cottage is beautiful and well equipped. The owner feels like a friend and is very helpful. The location was perfect for sightseeing in Halifax and the Calder Valley. The local transit and taxi services are fabulous and helpful. The views are spectacular and the neighbour is delightful, with a nice mix of history and modern amenities nearby. I still daydream about my visit at Dyer’s Cottage and I am very hopeful to come back on my next visit.

My family and I stumbled across Dyer’s Cottage while searching for places to stay in Halifax. We fell in love with the cottage. Beautiful views, easy access to everything you’d need, binders full of information to get around and things to see, and loads of history. The owners are nice, caring, and accommodating.

We loved staying at this beautiful little cottage. It really was a home from home. It has fascinating family and local history, expertly curated within the decor, this really helped to make our stay uniquely special. It is extremely well-appointed, definitely not your run-of-the mill holiday let! The modern kitchen had everything we needed, including a very efficient dishwasher. This was most welcome, as was the washing machine. The bathroom is modern and luxurious. The bedroom is superbly comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated, including of course, lovely period features and fantastic views from the mullioned windows. We also really appreciated the wonderful up-to-date Smart TV, so when we were relaxing in the evening we could stream our favourite news and tv channels. We highly recommend this beautiful cottage.
