This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Halifax. The entrance is grand and classic, giving a wonderful first impression. The rooms are very spacious and easily accessible via the lift. The lobby staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I especially enjoyed the refreshing scent diffusers placed throughout the hallways—a very nice touch. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance and Halifax Borough Market nearby. It is an ideal choice for anyone visiting the area.
I've stayed at the White Swan hotel twice in the last six months on business. Reason being I'm more than happy with the price per night. Polite and friendly staff. The location for me is perfect. Great pizza place next door. And if you into Thai food like i am. There's a Thai Restaurant 5 minute walk down the road.i will add photos of the hotel later
Arrived and paid for the Executive room that had a filthy carpet, a bed that was so soggy that you felt the bed base when you sat on it. There were no reading lamps and the floor in the bathroom was falling apart. The one good news was the receptionist was lovely, completely understanding and gave us a refund immediately. We then went to the Premier inn which was cheaper, cleaner and more comfortable
Impressive hotel from the outside but dated on the inside. Can't really moan as it was a lot cheaper than any other hotel we've stayed out. Superior room booked was just bigger than normal but felt it didn't have a cosy feel or identity. Plain white walls with an old picture of a pale flower. TV wouldn't pick any channels up which I did mention to reception but they couldn't help and someone else had mentioned it. Bed was comfy and clean. Bathroom smart enough but didn't make me go wow. Would be nice if they had a bar to start your night off with
We stayed at the White Swan Hotel over Christmas to celebrate with the family. We booked a room with twin beds and a double room. Instead of twin beds, there was a normal double bed and an extra bed, even though we had been promised twin beds. Both rooms were cold, and there was no heating in the bathroom. The single-glazed windows were draughty, and despite the blanket, we froze in the extra bed, which was right under the window. The water pressure in the shower got weaker and weaker until it was just a trickle. We ended up showering at our family's place and only used the room to sleep in. The furniture is simple and old, the carpet is worn and stained. We only took our shoes off in bed. The bed sheet had holes and was not really clean. Only the shower towels were clean and unused. There were no other towels, just a cloth for the cold floor. The photos on the internet do not correspond to our room. There seem to be renovated rooms and rooms that are in urgent need of renovation. The rooms facing the street are also noisy and the old windows are unable to reduce the noise. The staff were friendly and the hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city.
