I had such a lovely time on this painting course focused on a classic Yorkshire scene. Ruth was warm, encouraging, and explained each step clearly from planning the composition to layering color and capturing those big Yorkshire vistas. I picked up practical techniques like colour mixing and layering. As someone who was never taught art techniques at school it felt accessible for beginners but still engaging if you’ve painted before. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with plenty of individual guidance. Refreshments were a thoughtful touch—tea, coffee, prosecco and nibbles. I left with a finished piece I’m genuinely proud of and despite me saying I had enough hobbies I actually went out today and bought myself some paints and brushes! I would definitely recommend this course!
An excellent affordable gallery with something for everyone. Beautiful paintings of local landscapes and animorphised (if thats a word!) scenes which the more you look at the more little details you notice. There is also work done by the owners two sons - I am a glutton for Christmas decoration so couldn’t resist two made by them! A great addition to dean clough and definitely worth a stop and a chat with the owner and artists!
