As non-league grounds go, you don't get any better Halifax Town. Close to both town centre and railway station. The Shay has been upgraded gradually over the years to a great standard. Good views, friendly locals, helpful stewards, and the best roast potatoes (with gravy or chilli) I've had in a long time. The reason it loses a star (unfortunately) is the state of the seats. They are filthy, with some covered in bird droppings (literally from the roof).
As a Halifax season ticket holder I always enjoy visiting the Shay Stadium. Although the bar queue can get quite long at times the staff are always courteous and friendly. The loos are clean and the stands/boxes are comfortable.
The shay it’s at a pretty good stadium inside n out the football might not be up to standard but the rugby has the high level s of passion plus the home of Andysmanclub plus I have attended a few events at this stadium it makes you feel very welcome I would so it’s very accommodating puts some local grounds to shame so yes any sports events going on go give them a watch they miss a good fan base but have potential.
So my Football team Oldham Athletic were playing Tonight away at FC Halifax Town at The Shay Stadium so I headed over the the Moors to the Shay Stadium. It was my first time at the Shay Stadium got there at 6pm match was kicking off at 7:45pm, Parked on the Stadium carpark(They Charge a 5iver and they only take CASH even if you are Disabled and have a Disabled badge), So Headed into the Supporters Bar and ordered a pint of San Miguel(£5.30) and you can pay cash or card. Bar started to full up slowly with home fans and a couple of us Oldham Fans, Went back to the bar for a pint of Carling(£4.80), Finished my pint and walked round to the North stand with the other Latics fans. Showed my ticket and had my bag searched then headed into the ground there are Bar huts to grab a beer(You Can pay Cash or Card), Food Huts etc. I was in the standing end(We also had a seating stand as we have a massive away following, so headed onto the terrace and soaked up the warm ups and watched the stadium fill up. Not a bad little Stadium, Great atmosphere inside the ground. Pitch was in great condition, We sang our hearts out for the full 90 minutes, We drew 1-1 with FC Halifax Town. I post alot of reviews on Google and i always give my honest opinions and feedback on everything from Service, Drinks, Food, Value for money, Cleanliness, Airbnb's, Hotels, Flights. Stadiums, Wine tasting, Accommodation, Beauty treatments etc on our travels and we have over 28,000,000+ views on Google. 5☆ 5☆ 5☆ 5☆ 5☆
Another ground visited 150+....great staff and meal in hospitality...
