Sophie's Coffee Shop, Bistro and Bed & Breakfast

Stopped off for breakfast after staying overnight in Harrogate. A very attractive and well presented cafe. Bacon and bacon and sausage rolls were lovely. Sophie was very friendly and welcoming. There were some of their B&B guests enjoying the full breakfast offering which appeared very good. Although we didn't indulge there were many tempting cakes etc on display for those looking for tea/coffee and cake and a good offering of lunches on the menu. We will definitely drop in if in the area again.

Sofie's is a lovely café and well worth a visit. The food is always spot on and the service is outstanding. We are regular visitors and have never been disappointed. Just might add that a veggie sausage option on the menu would be most welcome!

Lovely room, Sophie was very kind and helpful. Breakfast in the coffee shop was very good. The coffee was the best we had on our trip, I recommend it.

Have seen her put her fingers in the drinks before serving, she puts left over food from other plates onto new customer’s plates. The overall cleanliness is awful. This place use to be a nice little cafe however it’s completely changed. The cakes are stale and days old. DONT EAT HERE

For 11 years we stayed at a lovely B&B in Nidderdale and called at Sophie’s for packed lunches, meals and an occasional coffee and cake. Sophie and her staff were always friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We said we should try her B&B if we couldn’t stay at our Favourite one and last year that happened. We have just returned from our second stay and are about to rebook for a week next year. We have the double room on the top floor. An airy room with fantastic views over the garden, fields and across the valley. I had full English breakfast every day and my wife had poached eggs on smashed avocado on sourdough bread. It was always perfect. Quality food expertly cooked. We bought sandwiches for our packed lunches, a little dearer than a supermarket but delicious. Sophie is the perfect hostess, friendly and helpful. Her homemade recipes book is excellent and includes interesting notes on her background and the founding of her business. Stayed for another week in June 2025, and rebooked for 2026. Still excellent.
