Problem with both charging cables. Had to physically hold the cable into the car's port for it to communicate successfully, and had to continue holding cable with upward pressure to keep the charge going. Without holding the cable, the charge wouldn't even start. As soon as I'd let go of the cable, the charging would stop. Possibly due to the hefty weight of the charging plug and cable, and lack of intermediate support like you find on some other brands of chargers or over 150kW. Used the Shell Recharge 150kW at Saltaire instead, which worked without any problem.
Chargers are always out of service. Everything we go it is always out of service. The app doesn't update right as it says the chargers are available when they are not or don't work. We have contacted the support team many times, and all they say is they are sending an engineer or they are having technical issues. BP Pluse really need to update their system as there has been nothing but problems. The cable on one side is also very short, so you have to park on an angle to plug it in. Would not recommend until they get the system sorted. We also paid for the pulse subscription, and we feel we are not getting our moneys worth at all. Disappointing.
Worked this time. Had to ring to get the charger started hopefully that won't happen again.
Arrived late afternoon to find 1 point available and successfully setup via the BP Pulse app. Reasonably fast charge but needed 45mins for a long journey, when I noticed a sign regarding the parking on the forecourt giving only 30mins stay, no need to worry as checked with the staff, who advised it does not apply to EV charging, Always best to check in case things change.
It was a struggle getting my pulse card but actually charging proved to be the easiest one so far. Wife and I enjoyed half price drink from wild bean.
