Private Woodland Walkies

We’ve had an amazing morning at Woodland walkies in Harden. Absolutely amazing place, dogs LOVED it! Nice and secluded, plenty of space to sit and enjoy the wildlife (or Ragnar the pug snorting next to you). Water station, egg hut, great parking. It really is a hidden gem. The owners Lydia and Tom and extremely helpful too. Highly recommended 🐾 ❤️ 🌲

I found this place researching off lead secure walks for our Easter holiday in the south Pennines. What a find!! He loves woodland and it's so rare to get good secure ones to play in. Beautiful place, very hilly so a good workout for the humans too! I bet it's a glorious little hideout in the summer. The parking space was fine, I decided to reverse in which made exiting much easier.

While away for the weekend we came across this amazing woodland for dogs. Wow, what an experience. Really good size and plenty of exploring to be done for the dogs. Good seating areas for us humans and pathways around the wood. All three dogs were done for the day after exploring for an hour here. Parking available for 1 car, secure enough to let your dogs explore without any stress or worry of other dogs and absconding. We wish we lived closer so we could visit more often. What a great idea.

The wood itself was ok, very steep and not as big as I was expecting but my dogs enjoyed the hour they had running , chasing around and sniffing . I’m issue was the paths in places where not well maintained at all. I was stung by nettles several times, I received scratches from brambles all from following the path to the rhs of parking spot around to the bottom of the woods. My 2 sons also got stung by the nettles too. For the price I would expect to have seen more maintenance. Having said that, it is a well secured place to let you dogs exercise in safety. The facilities weren’t that clean either. I know it’s a woodland and expect it to have some related dirt but it wouldn’t hurt to clean the equipment once a week to keep it to a minimum. We sat on tree stumps rather than the seating. Would I go again, I’m afraid not , it was a change of scenery for my dogs but it was a 45 min drive to get there and due to the size, the gradient and the lack of maintenance to the path , for me and my family it wasn’t as enjoyable as some private woodland walks we have been to.

An absolutely perfect space for safe and secure off lead walkies. Our boy is a different dog here. It's wonderful to see. Parking can be a bit scary, but you forget about that as soon as you see how happy your dog is. Water station, bins for poop bags and plenty of seating. Even a shelter!
