Stunning, one of the best houses I have visited, and the most stunning lake and grounds view, the only downside is not enough clear signs, and the walled garden is a trek around the lake so unfortunately we didn't get that far.

First time visit. Art exhibition in every room open to public. Interesting guide talk in library at noon(free). Staff friendly and willing to make your visit pleasurable. Will be returning at Christmas as their festive house dressing is well worth the visit

Harewood House is a superb facility that offers a wonderful experience for visitors of all ages. The grounds boast beautiful gardens and ample toilet facilities, ensuring a comfortable visit for everyone. Families will appreciate the well-equipped play area that caters to both young children and older kids, making it an ideal destination for a day out. Accessibility is a strong point at Harewood House, with excellent disabled access throughout the estate. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. A particular highlight is the Buddhist temple on the grounds, where a knowledgeable and kind gentleman provides detailed explanations of the temple's history, leaving both adults and school children in awe. The Small Animals and Bird Garden is another delightful feature. It offers close encounters with a variety of animals and birds, including Molly the Parrot, who is famous for mimicking phone sounds and engaging in playful banter with visitors. This interactive experience is sure to charm both children and adults alike. However, there are some areas where improvement is needed. While the facilities and attractions are outstanding, the food prices are notably high. A sausage roll costing £6 is quite steep, suggesting that bringing your own food might be a more economical option. Despite this minor drawback, Harewood House remains a highly recommended destination. The combination of beautiful gardens, a fascinating Buddhist temple, engaging animal encounters, and comprehensive facilities ensures a memorable visit. Whether you're there for a school trip, a family outing, or a solo adventure, Harewood House has something special to offer everyone.
