As a cradle Catholic this is the best parish I've lived in in my 55 years. Church building is modest but the parishioners are largely welcoming and friendly. What every parish should be like. The only downside is we ve no resident priest and the neighbour parish whose parish priest has responsibility for St Aelreds has also lost a priest recently. But we manage Edited with update.... after several years without a resident priest we now have a parish priest again!
Easily accessible. Ample parking. Free Sunday street parking for worshippers too. Very lovely congregation. Well-timed mass as well, not long at all. My kinda church really.
This is my go to church for weekend Mass. Its a small Catholic community parish which makes masses more meaningful than the bigger all singing and dancing churches in my opinion. To each their own, but this parish brought me back to my faith and for that I will always be grateful.
Lovely Church, generations of families loyal to the community but lacks a real welcoming feel for strangers and visitors.
