I parked here for the first time. It was totally fine. Easy to find. Centre location which I wanted (for a lunch meeting at Cattlemen’s Grill just 2mins away, and then the Turkish Baths). Yes it’s pay on arrival which is maybe a bit unusual but just pay for more than enough time and you’ll not have a problem. Keep a note of your expiration time, set an alarm on your phone, or just return and pay for more time if you need to. It’s not that difficult to manage. So it’s a clean and secure car park. Central location. Big spaces. Not cheap but not overly excessive either. Get your car parked and just have a nice Harrogate day!! Dropped a star though as no receipt available from the pay machine. Haway. Sort that out. Business expenses!!
Convenient car park, but encourages people to get out of town quickly as you have to estimate and pay for the amount of time you're going to be there, rather than paying on exit. This means local businesses will lose out on visitors calling into bars and restaurants and spending their money. It's a terrible idea. Please sort it out Harrogate Council.
Changed payment system since our last visit. Seems to be fairly straight forward where you pay how ever long you think you maybe. Only ever issue I have with this car park is that the exits are SO narrow when you leave and I normally have to do a odd mauver just to get my car through (not a massive car, just a Honda Civic Mk8).
Couldn’t get parked on this car park yesterday and ended up driving out. Was stuck in a que for ages. It’s the most ridiculous system of having to pay on arrival so obviously no parking space so facility wasn’t used! I will be contesting any ticket and as a resident of Harrogate will no longer be shopping in the town!! It ruined my day worrying I will be penalised!! Thanks NYC another fine mess you have made!!!
* AVOID * Have changed to pay on arrival with no option to add to that if you are going to run over allocated time. No barriers at the entrance so even when car park was full, like when I arrived, it was letting people in even though there were no spaces. Needs to be reviewed as a lot of people are having the same complaint.
