DHL Express Service Point (Ryman Harrogate)

Was asked my name, mobile number, address and email address - when I asked why they needed my email address, the staff member serving me just asked me for my email address again, then when I asked again why they needed it, said it was for my e-receipt and mentioned that it must be my first time using their service in a way that made me feel momentarily embarrassed to be such a novice. I was given a paper receipt and sent a Whatsapp message anyway so the email address felt entirely unnecessary. Seemed like a lot of effort (and personal details) for a parcel, and the price, which I was only told at the end, seemed a bit steep - hopefully the delivery and support will be better than Royal Mail because I wished I'd gone to the Post Office instead.

I was able to set up the delivery before going to the shop and had an email with a barcode and confirmation number. At the shop, the barcode was scanned and all the information came up on screen. I was asked to check that information and and a label was printed. I put my letter in the DHL bag provided, the label was stuck on and all I had to do was pay. It was very easy. The assistant behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. I would certainly use this again if necessary.

It was really a good experience. The deputy manager was friendly, and helped me more than I was expecting. He was very patient with me.

Oh where should I start? Poor quality of the """"""""" customer service"""""""? But I would hardly say that was eveclose to customer service. That they couldn't register the address correctly? Or that they delivered my package with coffee all over on it? Best of all they wanted that the sender pay because of their mistakes. Wouldn't recommend at all. Better use pigeons instead.
