bp pulse Charging Station

Although they work fine, it is a bad idea to count on either of the two BP Pulse charging points at the Crowne Plaza, being available. The underground car park is always busy and was pretty much full after 6pm, with both charge points already occupied by one fully charged Vauxhall and an ICE car blocking the other space. The vauxhall remained until the following morning.

The charging was as normal straight forwards Charging point needs better signage .As you drive into a dark carpark the Charging point is to the right and behind you not visible on entering

The BP charge point at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Harrogate has the disadvantage of being underground so there is only a very weak mobile signal to it. Enough to easily determine my location and the charge point and add credit to my account but not enough to enable the charger on the first attempt. All attempts on the first socket I tried were unsuccessful and each time the app told me to check my device was connected to the internet. It was only on my second attempt on the other socket did the charge start. This may not have been an internet signal issue, but that was implied by the message on the app.

The big problem with this charger is that it is the basement of a multistory car park. There is therefore no phone or data signal. With the invaluable assistance of the helpline and me comically running outside and Inside of the car park, we got the charging process started.

Did not work. Both connectors would show they were activated and connected but neither actually put out a charge. Particularly frustrating since these are the reason I booked this hotel and harrogate doesn’t have great charging options…
