Really great vets, very knowledgeable and friendly vets who always give the best care It isn’t worth knocking a star down over this, as the vets themselves are all great, however the receptionists leave a lot to be desired, it can be off putting when they come across rude, impatient and don’t seem to listen to you, most recently with Heather. If I hadn’t had great history with the vets in the past, some of the interactions with the receptionist when you call up could definitely be enough to make you not want to register with them.
Easy to book a quick appointment. One injection for a bite rather than the 3 or 4 the big chain vets "insist" you have. Nice people. Highly recommend.
It’s a month since my beloved Ridgeback-cross passed and I am still coming to terms with the loss and with his final minutes of life. I've always had pets, especially rescue pets, so I have faced the ghastly challenge of ‘letting go’ before. I know and appreciate the role a sympathetic, caring vet should play. In this case, my trip to the vet came shortly before the close of business and I felt my dog's visit was a last-minute, clock-watching inconvenience. Having bluntly been asked what type of pet insurance I had during the brief exam, I replied I had none. Why was this relevant?? The vet then offered up grim options, with little or no explanation, ending with the offer of ‘euthanasia’. His further warning that my dog might not survive the night had me reeling. I was shocked and unprepared. And still the clock was ticking ... it was past closing time now. The procedure was clumsy - my dog yelped as the cannula went into him. Then, with him still alive and waiting to be euthanised, another blunt question from the vet, sitting at his computer, 'What would you like to do with the body?' A big, sturdy dog all his life, my partner and I had to hold on to him as he stood for his final, lethal, injection before collapsing to the cold floor (a indelible final bitter memory of a once lovely, sweet dog). It was an abrupt, brutal end to the nearly eight years I’d spent trying to ease the horrors of his rough start in life. A life ended horribly. If you are stoic and unemotional about putting your dog to sleep, this might be the vet practice for you. The vet attended to my pet quickly, albeit very unceremoniously; I can only hope he ended my dog's 'suffering.' If you are like me and want a kinder, more compassionate passing for your beloved pet, you might consider looking elsewhere.
Such care, such compassion. Nothing was too much trouble and they always got us in immediately with our poorly dog. Sadly we lost her as she was beyond help, but it was done with dignity, respect and calm explanation. Thank you. X
She's an angel. She went out of her way to help me with my bird. I pray she has a beautiful blessed life. Very few genuinely good people in this world, she's one of them. Thank you for helping me :)
