I visited this station on 5th August 2024. The guy at the counter gave me the machine to pay £33.15 for fuel and cigarette. First he told me that it has declined ( I didn't see it, he served me at window midnight time)and asked me to put the card in and it went through. I later checked my bank account and found out he charged me twice. I raised the issue with shell customer support team. I received an email stating ( Dear Shakil, Thank you for contacting Shell UK. I have raised your concern with the Retailer of Shell Jennyfield, who have reviewed this matter and advised that they have received only one payment, related to this transaction. I would be grateful if you could provide us with a bank statement showing doubled charge so we can investigate this further. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely, Patrick) My reply Dear Patrick Thank you for your email. Shell Jennyfield charged me twice for the same transaction, you were provided with a receipt as well. Further to your request to provide you with a bank statement, see the attached which is evident that they charged me twice, unfortunately instead of refund with an apology for their act, they insist and claim that they haven't taken the payment twice which shows it's a clear theft. In addition to this, I would seek legal assistance in this regard to pursue this matter legally. See the attached bank statement of 5th August. £33.15 charged twice. I trust the above is satisfactory. Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Surprisingly they can't locate this small transaction?
Visited the garage yesterday. The pump I used leaked a black oily substance on the paintwork of my vehicle which I had just had washed; from the pump handle onto my car so I looked for paper towels to find none at any of the normal areas. I requested one from the member of staff behind the till clearly & concisely and return statement made no clear sense whatsoever. She then ignored me in an attempt to serve the customer behind me. I can only assume spoken English was not her first language so then why employ someone who is customer facing who is unable to converse with the general public? In addition, I wanted to use up my change for the fuel I had used. This was just insult to injury. My fuel bill was £10.50. I gave her £25.50 of which £5.50 was in change. I asked for a £10 & a £5 note in return. The transaction took what felt like a lifetime as she could not work out why I had given her more than the fuel bill. If this member of staff cannot carry out her basic responsibilities then either she is incapable of carrying out her role or your training scheme is grossly insufficient! What if there had been an accident, God forbid at the station? Would she of known what to do in the case of an emergency? I very much doubt it?! Give people the adequate training they require, pay your staff the correct (morally) wages, pass on fuel savings immediately & stop chasing margins!!!
Beware!!! Always get a receipt and always check the amount after refuelling. The forecourt staff won't be held responsible and are unaccountable for their errors and incompetance. I received a notice letter dated 19th April 2024 today 22.04.24 from a company called Forecourt Eye stating that I have driven off a garage forecourt at Shell Jennyfield’s in Harrogate at 1645hrs on 25 March 2024 without paying, like some kind of criminal. I will be prevented from refuelling again and will be placed on a national blacklist until I pay the notice of £80.50 which includes a £30 administration fee that is triggered if payment is not made after 3 days. This is unreasonable and wholly inaccurate. For the sake of clarity, on the date in question namely 25 March 2024. I did refuel at Shell Jennyfield’s, enter the shop, bought a pack of sweets and made a contactless payment at the till before driving away. Totally unaware of any misdemeanour. Upon closer investigation of your evidence and subsequently studying my rewards statement and bank statement, it is clear that only payment for the sweets £2.75 had been taken. It is obvious, this was an error by the Shell forecourt staff, upon which your notification was the first I was made aware of this. I acknowledge that I refuelled, but having made the contactless payment without studying the amount, I was not aware of the forecourt staff error until receiving the notice from Forecourt Eye. I have submitted supporting evidence taken from my Shell rewards statement and excerpts from my March Bank statement that during March I have refuelled at various Shell forecourts and Shell Jennyfield’s Harrogate in particular on 3 occasions. At no point was I challenged or asked about the non payment. It has taken Forecourt Eye almost 4 weeks to contact me, which triggers their extortionate administration fee, giving me no option to pay for the fuel without incurring charges and any attempt to appeal will be closed if disputing admin fees. I would have been happy to pay the £45.50 for fuel taken for an genuine error made by a member of the Shell forecourt staff, but I find it unreasonable being made to pay an administration charge to Forecourt Eye whose nefarious tactics deliberately allowed 30 days to lapse before contacting me, thus triggering their charges. Shell hide behind Forecourt Eye and DO NOT and WILL NOT support any claim. Forecourt Eye are unavailable, uncompromising and use nefarious and delaying tactics to ensure they can trigger their admin charges... #Sharp practice As a loyal Shell customer, I would rather buy an EV than use Shell Jennyfield’s filling station ever again. This practice has lost Shell between £5k-10k per annum in revenue from me and my custom for ever.... and anyone who I can tell...
I received a letter saying a I owe £46 for some fuel that reversed payment after I left. I found proof on my fuel card statements showing I had paid. I went to the petrol station to explain this to the young girl(who is always very nice) she said her dad was the manager and he would ring me. He never called me and one week later I received another letter and I went again spoke to someone else and was told the same. Then today I receive a letter from the courts saying I made no contact! I am extremely angry and they have lost my weekly £120 a week fuel bill.
Fuel down at the most inconvenient times. This is the only Shell station in town for base personnel should limit down time to nights
