Harrogate Aquatic

Came to look at some aquariums today. And they fob you off with display models. At full price. When I asked about the juwel tanks. He said they are opened to checked they not smashed in China. When they never even been to China. They are made in Germany. Poor advice or trying to fob me off I've been keeping fish and aquariums for 30 years. They only selling display models hardly any fish for sale and live plants have seen better days.

As a potential first-time pet and fish owner, I was reassured by the fact that all the people I spoke with about getting a fish told me to come to Harrogate Aquatics. I'm so glad I listened. The staff here are incredibly professional, well-informed, and care about the fish and their potential customers. Without knowing whether I was going to buy from them or not, they have taken me through the whole process of buying the tank and getting the fish. Luke, Matt, and Ally answered all my questions (and there were many) with detail and the patience of saints. My daughter and I (we know that that's really just me) are now the proud owners of a beautiful fish tank and flame tetras that are alive and well (let's not talk about the fish that died on my first run 😳 while I hide my head in shame)

Excellent advice, good pricing and, most importantly, very friendly folk. All round a great shop.

Such a great little shop, the staff are always helpful and cheerful. A good selection of fish with some less standard species, the plants are great, very well kept and displayed. Try the little £1 fish food sample bags, might find something your fish love.

Luke, Alison and Matt are a great team, providing expert advice with friendly and efficient service. I've just returned to fishkeeping, after a decade off. They quickly brought me back up to speed on the most recent trends and equipment. Alison helped me choose the right freshwater system (an Oase Highline 200). I've never used CO2 injection, Matt and Ali were a goldmine of technical and practical advice - thank you. Once I'd chosen my plants Ali made sure they were right for me, and even prepared and 'mollycoddled' them for my delivery. Luke delivered my tank and cabinet, helping me in with it and making sure all as well, he even made another trip, to drop-of a supplementary pump I needed. Little details seem as important to these guys as the big stuff like sales and orders - a good sign of a professional and ethical business. I've just spent an hour relaxing as my Amano shrimps demolish the initial algae growth on my moss and hardscape - bliss! Five stars - highly recommend Harrogate Aquatics.
