Great time had at cedar Court Hotel. We see quite a few hotels but this one is very luxurious and comfortable. The rooms are more than adequate with space to move about, the food is good, the service is great in particular one young lady whose been there six years , blonde lady but I didn't quite catch her name, begins with L, possibly lorren or Lorraine. Thank you to everyone. Would definitely stay again
Having stayed here before, we knew what the hotel was mainly about. We had come for the New Year package, 2 day affair. 30th December till 1st Jan, although we had booked an extra night, so leaving now on the 2nd Jan. We arrived early as we'd booked The Turkish Bath in town at 2.30pm. We couldn't check in because room wasn't ready, not a problem but we were allowed to park. Check in later that day was not a problem. We did ask for an itinerary for the package but there wasn't one. Questions we asked had no answer!!! After sorting out our room, putting suits and dresses on hangers & a shower we went to the bar. The bar staff were very pleasant and helpful Harry, one of them helped us later in our stay, getting answers to questions, even getting the events manager for us. The meal at night was ok but not great. The main course with triple cooked chips had burnt parts on them. They offered to change them but half way through a burger was not a great idea. The breakfast was first class and the New Year celebration dinner was one of the best, having been to several different hotels for the same event. Although we'd been assured that we'd wouldn't have to move room for the extra night, we had a cleaner knocking on our door early and later that day, someone actually walked in without knocking. I understand this was the hotel manager, not a great practice. Overal we enjoyed our stay, just would prefer if different departments spoke to each other.
Rooms are pretty good we stayed in a family deluxe room which had a bedroom for the kids with large TV in it and in out room we had a large TV. The only thing I'd say is the bathrooms need upgrading. And another thing which annoyed me was the room cleaning service male knocked one little tiny knock at 10 o'clock 1 hour before check and just walks in with out saying nothing and there's my kids and wife getting changed, that really annoyed me.
Excellent Venue, Huge - ample car park which was inexpensive. Although we arrived at midday we were allowed to park for 24 hours for £8 - we visited Harrogate for the day - amazing mix of old and new. The Hotel was great, large and had lifts. View overlooking Harrogate from our room and the Sway from the front. Nice staff, great bar and good breakfast - and by good, to be fair it was great. Breakfast staff - excellent. Easy online check in and check out - although key card would not work to start - it was no hassle for us or them. TV, free wifi and coffee tea - shower and bath allowing a nice relaxing soak in the evening.
Awful stay. We wish we’d stayed in a Travelodge as we would have got some sleep and not stunk of weed when we left. The room needs renovating. Doors banging constantly until 4am. Walls paper thin and could hear the room nextdoor arguing at 2am followed by a very loud shower. Service was poor. On checkout we were asked how the wedding was, which we replied we haven’t been to a wedding and he didn’t ask/show interest in how our stay was. If he did we would have told him the worst part. Guests on our floor were smoking weed all night long. It was absolutely horrendous. The smell completely filled the corridors and our room through the inch gap under the door. We put towels down to block the gap but it was also coming in through the bathroom and the drafty window. We left smelling of weed and couldn’t believe how strong the smell was in the corridors in the morning. When we tried to ring reception there was no answer. We messaged on WhatsApp but nothing happened. Once we’d left and was sent a message to ask how our stay was, we told a member of staff who said next time we can have a deluxe room. Unfortunately, we will not be staying again. We didn’t sleep until 4/5am due to noise and smell and then got up at 7am, skipped breakfast and went to another hotel and had a wonderful breakfast. We travelled home asap instead of exploring Harrogate just to get some sleep. For the price we wish we’d gone elsewhere where.
