Loved this hotel but had a ghostly experience in room 140. Do you believe in ghosts? I want to share a strange experience I had back in 2014 while attending a union conference at the Studley Hotel in Harrogate. I was lying on the bed in my hotel room (room 140), talking to my wife on my mobile phone, when suddenly a series of flashing orbs appeared over the curtain rail by the window. Then, I distinctly heard a voice say, "Not now." Just like that, the orbs vanished. I told my wife instantly what I had seen and heard. The next day, I told the receptionist what happened, and she said this wasn’t the first time people had reported ghostly experiences in that very room. Fast forward three months later, I was hiking with my family in the Lake District, climbing Walla Crag near Keswick. My daughter accidentally dislodged a large rock that rolled straight down the hill and nearly hit my head. My wife screamed my name and said, then for no reason said "Not now." We both instantly made the connection to the earlier event. Ll
My wife and I stayed for 1 night in an Executive room for £119 and paid to park for the day for £12. Great location in the city centre, everything was a short walk away. The hotel feels luxurious, with pleasant decor and modern finish. Staff were very polite and attentive. The room itself was modern, spacious and clean with a good size tv, ironing and tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom had a bath with standing shower. The only let down was the bed, which was advertised as king sized but was actually 2 singles pushed together. Normally not an issue, but I had specifically selected the more expensive room for a king size bed. Mentioned this to staff on check out and was informed that only their Executive Superior rooms have proper king sized beds. All in all a pleasant stay.
Pleasant hotel room clean room was dark and to be honest dull in decoration we had a room with four poster bed in duvet cover didn’t fit duvet properly a couple of odd things happened in our room a small plastic box fell off dressing table on its own also hubby was in bathroom and a shampoo bottle fell off the shelve on its own to floor very strange it was mentioned to reception they had no reports before. Ideal location for town
This was our second stay. The location is perfect for the town. Everything is accessible and easy to reach. The hotel is very nice indeed. The room was well appointed and clean. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Studley Hotel will always be our first choice when we visit Harrogate.
Brilliant location. Lovely bed, we slept well. The room was cold, the shower flooded the bathroom quite alarmingly and you could hear every door slamming and every footstep fron neighbouring rooms as if they were next to the bed!
