Description
Harrogate Theatre is a grade II listed building at the heart of Harrogate and is one of the town’s oldest independents!
Historically an interval bar, the Circle Bar at Harrogate Theatre is now open to the public as a space to enjoy great coffee and teas, freshly baked cakes, and a selection of local beers, craft gins and more. We also welcome local businesses who wish to meet or work in a quiet space with unique appeal.
The Circle Bar is something of a heritage spectacle, offering a unique space to sit and relax, with ornate features and the chance to take a peek at the magnificent main auditorium during your visit. The walls within the Circle Bar present a specially curated exhibition of gems from the archive cupboard, providing a glimpse or the long, rich history of the theatre.
What’s more, the Circle Bar is operated by Harrogate (White Rose) Theatre Trust - a registered charity - so when you spend there you’re supporting the town’s culture and heritage.

My first visit to Harrogate Theatre, to see a Neil Diamond tribute, and I was enchanted by building. Celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2025, the theatre is in very good order and full of period features. The staff and volunteers who run it are pleasant and helpful. In addition to the main 500 seat auditorium, there's also a small 60 seat Studio Theatre upstairs. A delightful place that I'll certainly revisit
Fantastic and entertaining pantomime 👏. We all loved it, thank you. Also, the seating and layout is far better than other theatres. Concessions were all reasonably priced. Thanks again for an excellent Saturday evening.
This theatre is in the centre of Harrogate fronting onto a pedestrianised zone. This means you'll need to use the nearby car parks, leaving you just a short walk to the theatre. The theatre is very old and has fantastic ornamentation on the upper boxes, ceiling and stage surroundings. It's a little gem and worth a visit. There are two bar areas and ample seating.
Lovely little theatre. Nice staff to greet you. Comfortable seating. Cosy bar for refreshments. Good sound and visual experience.
Another cracking Xmas panto. Hats off to the performers but everyone else who makes it happen in the background. BRAVO!
