Lovely high spot to stop at and see either sunrise or sunset over the beautiful remote North Yorkshire Moors. Good place to start a walk from and not far from either Whitby or Goathland

Free car park - what's not to like? Access to Broxa forest on the other side of the road, which is dog friendly and there are lots of forest walks, and some open ones with spectacular views over the valleys below.

I’ve used this car park twice, first time, zero issue, it’s free and great access to the wood. But be careful when leaving your car here for long. I returned to a burning car after a 30 hour hike. Spoke with a local and apparently there is a group who keep setting things on fire. Like the two meters or elec hook ups. Not sure what they were but they were burnt up by these kids too. No cameras.

Well for a start this is not a forest it is a commercial enterprise consisting of trees planted purely for profit and in no way represents what an English forest should look like as ninety nine percent of the tree's are pine with a smattering of native species. Greed and exploitation at its worst.

Free car park with access to the woods. There are no bins or toilets and if walking your dog you will need to take your bags home.
