Stopped here for refreshment after the factory tour. Actually quite difficult to know what to say about this one. It was just okay. Nothing was exceptionally good or bad. Just felt a bit flat and uninspired compared to some of the attractions available on site. Like they almost gave up trying too hard here. And the table tops did have an oddly sticky feel to them. Tried two out before staying with first choice of seating and they were both the same. If you're hungry and you don't mind settling for second best then you will probably find it here. Such a shame in an otherwise must visit destination.

It's alright for what it is - The coffee is 200 Degrees Beans which are always a good blend. The menu is, naturally, mostly cheese based/themed - but £7 for cheese on toast and £8 for some luke warm three bean chilli nachos, particularly when the cheese in the gift shop is very reasonably priced, is a bit of a stretch

A lovely place to stop for a bite while visiting the Wensleydale Cheese Factory. The 1897 Café offers a really good selection of food, with something for everyone, and everything we tried was fresh and tasty. It’s a bright, inviting place to eat, with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Mediocre Nearly £4 for a coffee and I think it came from a push button machine but could be wrong. Bread which came with soup so dry I didnt eat it. Soup tasty. When looking under tables the floor, was filthy. Wouldnt rush back, but nice view from marge windows and a nice gift shop

Good example of a booths cafe . Although Car park entrance hard to locate. This time came by bus. Decor of 1897 is very high standard and the cookery bookcases are a good way to break up the restaurant and give some privacy. The food is always good at a Booths and a wide range of coffee beans available.
