Very friendly pub on the up and up. Serves a fantastic pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord and other ales and lagers. John, the barmen, is excellent and chatty. I'm local so I don't know what the rooms are like.
We where here yesterday and it was nice and good. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good and the beer was cold! Thanks for everything! Greetings Hilda and Robert from Amsterdam.
Strange experience and shame the pub is in a poor state. Rooms are not too bad but lack of food, pub closing at 6pm on each night was odd. The breakfast was served next door, which nobody told us about when we checked in. Luckily we bumped into other guests who told us just before we were going to leave and find breakfast elsewhere. Hawes is great but there must be better places to stay than this one. But, this could be great if they get their act together.
Excellent village pub with great vibe, oh and a log fire which is always a bonus.
Excellent! Stopped for lunch after a nice walk. No frills, no pretentions. Just good pub food, and excellent friendly service and staff.
