About Stage 1 Cycles

Description

The Firebox Cafe is situated within the Yorkshire Dales National Park Vistors Centre in picturesque Hawes. It is a brand new contemporary coffee shop.  We offer fantastic real “Roost” coffee and high quality light refreshments. Our speciality is our homemade temptations prepared on site daily by our Queen of Tarts.  Where possible our ingredients are sourced from local supplies based in the Yorkshire Dales. When the weather allows we have outside seating for you to enjoy our lovely Wensleydale Ice-cream and we provide Grab and Go Bags for those on the move. Dogs are very welcome in our outside area.  The FireBox Cafe is a perfect place to recharge, refuel and recharge. In addition the cafe is an integrated part of Stage 1 Cycles. We have a new workshop on site and cycle equipment shop. So why not visit on your bike, pick up a spare inner tube, fix that squeaky pedal or hire a bike and explore the Dale the gentle way.

We can't speak too highly of Stage 1 Cycles. It was so easy to hire the e-bikes through the website. We called in before booking and Simon made sure we booked the best bikes for our needs. He had them fully prepared for when we arrived (with helmets and toolkit) and offered guidance on getting the best out of the bikes, routes and places to visit. First class service and we had great day.

We found this bike shop by chance after one of our gravel bikes had a problem. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and helped right away by a real professional. The service was quick and skilled. While we waited, we could relax in their cozy coffee place with a delicious flat white and the best chili nachos we’ve ever had. Highly recommended, both for the bike service and the chili & coffee!

My friend had a mechanical issue coming off Cam High Road, and some local cyclists recommended this shop and they were absolutely right about going above and beyond! The owner kindly offered to bring spare parts to the nearest road and provided incredibly helpful advice to try and resolve the situation. In the end, we managed to fix it ourselves thanks to their guidance and the local cyclists that stopped to help. Hands down, this is an amazing local bike shop with service that truly stands out!

Great cycle cafe: I limped in with a broken gear cable. Their mechanic was on holiday, but they sorted me out anyway in addition to serving a great breakfast bap and coffee. Nice atmosphere and ambience.

Perfect cafe stop. Slightly hidden away but well worth searching out (it's right next to the museum). Enjoyed a mighty fine coffee, awesome almond cake and creamy porridge. We asked for and got soya milk in our porridge at no extra cost. Will definitely be calling in again. Thanks
