Had taken my car for an mot. Needed 2 rear shock absorbers, front control arm and the clear plastic on my wing mirror for the indicator apparently so I said yes if that's what it needs to pass. Paid the quoted £650 never questioned anything and was on my way. 4 weeks later I get knocking/ rattling in the back passenger corner. Assumed it was something in the boot or parcel shelf. Drove for another few days with it getting worse and couldn't find what it was. And then it got really bad. Turns out the shock absorber had poked up in to the car and was no longer connected to the upper shock mount. Rang them up, they said bring it in. They assessed it and said the upper shock mount had corroded as it was in bad shape and collapsed. I said that's abit weird after 4 weeks. They said no we didn't replace the upper shock mounts because they looked fine. My car is 13 plate bmw having never had rear shocks replaced before, just for context. They said its going to be 160 quid to replace that upper shock mount. I was abit angry and confused and said forget it! Il do it myself. I said why haven't you changed the rear shock mounts for the new rear shocks. They said they looked fine! Clearly not.. Sent my wife down to collect the car as I was at work, she had abit of a pop saying it's not really good enough and why are you trying to charge us to repair 1 rear shock that we have just had fitted just over 4 weeks ago. Turns out, that sent a message and they offered to repair it for free, but only the side that had collapsed. Finally repaired it! But guess what.. Still got knocking from the same shock absorber, so I'm going to redo the side they did and the other side aswell because can't see that side being too far away from the same issue. The man was nice enough to say that the other side properly wouldn't last a year Had the cheek to come and show me the rotten and corroded upper mounts from the shock absorber that he had taken off . should have some sort of empathy for him. And I said I can see why you put them back on to the new shock absorbers and why would you even dare. I assume it was to try and make another 160 quid each side to replace the mounts that I can't find for any more than 30 quid anywhere on the Internet. Also didn't appreciate the man saying if u know so much about it why don't you fix it yourself. I literally paid you to do it just over 4 weeks ago! All this been said. I will not be going here ever again. And i will not be recommending this establishment
