Booked a table at Paddy Fields for a Wednesday evening, when I phoned them to book they offered me 6pm, 6.30pm or 7pm. I chose 6.30pm. We arrived a little early, however they seated us at the table and gave us a menu. The menu is extensive, with options for al a carte and set menu options. It wasn’t too long before the waiter came to take our order. He was really courteous and polite. We opted for main dishes, beef in black bean sauce and sweet & sour chicken, accompanied by egg fried rice and plain chow mein. The food arrived quickly, piping hot on hot plates. The beef was tender and tasty, the chicken was good quality, the sauce was not too sweet, very tasty and fresh. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be eating there again.
We moved to York September 2023. The very first time we visited PaddyFields we were hooked. We have been a returning customer both in the restaurant and takeaway orders ever since. Every single item on the menu is meticulously prepared and served. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
Had my first takeaway from Paddyfields today as our usual Chinese takeaway has changed hands and is no longer as good! I was really impressed with the quality of the food, the generous amount of meat in the dishes, and the very friendly staff who were polite and personable, even addressing me by name which was lovely. Will definitely be back!
Had my 60th birthday here last night. The food was the best I have tasted, service was beyond excellent, so friendly you felt so welcomed. Can’t recommend them too much. I look forward to eating here again very soon, thank you for making my birthday so nice.
Food here is definitely on another level compared to other Chinese restaurants in York. The food is much better prepared, tastes better, and they don't skimp on the meat. The two older gentlemen who served us were very charming and amusing. I usually feel neutral about service in restaurants, but this one of the few times it stood out to me as something positive. Drinks are a bit costly, though, for what they are.
