Public access car park on ministry of defence land adjacent to Strensall common. The car park is rough ground with no marked bays and can accommodate about 20 vehicles. There are restrictions on overnight parking. A popular car park for dog walkers and general and dog waste bin in situ. Lots of paths and tracks to walk and explore but can be quite wet in places.
Pleasant peaceful area. Take notice of the MOD rules when in the area. Lots of guns firing!
I visited Strensall Common Car Park recently and it was a most enjoyable experience. I parked my car there to embark on a walk around the Strensall Training Area and Strensall Rifle Ranges. The car park is easy to locate. It lies north of the Six Bells pub in Strensall and if you reach York Golf Club you have gone to far. There is an MOD sign indicating the access point for the car park. There is ample car parking spaces at the car park. I am going to be parking at the Strensall Common Car Park on Saturday 3rd September 2022. I am staying at Ampleforth Abbey on Friday 2nd September and Saturday 3rd September 2022. This is after my holiday in the Republic of Ireland where I am walking in Wexford Co and after attending Mass at St Martin's and the Church of the Holy Spirit Ballycullane. I would recommend a visit to the Strensall Common Car Park.
