My latest interaction with this shower resulted in a long exchange where I was refused an appointment with a doctor. I was given an appointment with an unqualified person who told me to go to a & E This group are named as the worst in York and seem to take great pleasure in living up to this, Ignorant arrogant who believe it is below them to see patients, and continue to use underqualified primary health care employees to diagnose conditions with out the experience or qualification Complaints are sent to the controlling body medical ombudsman and MP They are a disgrace I did get contact the surgery direct. That is why I left this review and after 49 years have changed my GP and am now being treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve and do not get from haxby group

I'm going with 5 stars here as my only issue with HGP is the wait times for non-urgent appointments and I don't think that's exclusive to this practice. The care and dedication to wellbeing paid to my son by Dr Read who has been determined to try and support him through a complex and confusing issue, to me by Dr Knowles and to my daughter by Dr Emara has been outstanding.

It's the NHS... it is going to be busy and understaffed no matter how hard they try. But they do their best and are always polite and respectful, and matters get seen to eventually. Shame the pharmacy moved out, but that does make parking slightly easier now which is a bonus. Although do remember to forget how to park straight when you go there ;-) A modern facility with easy access, albeit the double door entrance can be challenging with a pram or when carrying a toddler. Keep up the good work, thank you!

I have absolutely no words to the level of utter incompetence shown by this practice. NO WORDS. My Grandfather required a medical form to be completed, the form was dropped off on a Tuesday morning with a view to it being done. When he returned the following day the form had been lost and he was just turned away while they 'tried' to find it. He returned that afternoon only to be told that they couldn't complete the form (and hadn't found it). We decided to book a private appointment (which was 1.5 hours from York) but they required his patient summary. My Grandfather went down to the surgery again Friday morning and was assured this would be ready to collect Monday morning but as you can guess it wasn't. We were then told it would be emailed to the private practice before his appointment at 3pm that day. At 2.00pm it still wasn't done so I spent 1 hour on the phone trying to find out why this was proving so hard. After 45 minutes in the queue I was then put on hold for 10 minutes then the phone cut off. It's now 3.30pm and it still hasn't been sent. There is no wonder the NHS is on it's knees when people like this are involved. Absolutely and utterly disgusting. Everyone involved should hang their heads in shame!!
