The guys from GNR fixed a leak in our attic room due to cracked flashing around the chimney stack. I couldn't have asked for a better service. Great comms, very polite, arrived early and put in 3 full days work - were always two of the guys working. This job required scaffolding, removal of several tiles, old flashing removed, woodwork between the roof and back of chimney, new flashing and re-pointing. All of this was done at a very reasonable price. I had a couple of other quotes in from other roofers and they were very expensive. So, more than happy to vouch for GNR.

Despite issues with Covid, GNR (Roofing) have done a brilliant job of repairing the roof. Their attention to detail is meticulous, from the detailed survey through to completion. So no nasty when the invoice arrived. Quite the opposite - the amount was reduced owing to some materials quoted for but not needed. I would have no hesitation in recommending GNR tp complete a thoroughly professional job.

I asked GNR to inspect the roofs in our home, which is a collection of 19thC converted agricultural buildings that had been completed about 4 years ago. The problem was that the original architect and their contractor for the project had recommended that the original old tiles could be safely reused and that they would last for many more years. This was untrue; we found the first leak about 6 months ago and needed professional advice. GNR closely inspected all the roofs and found that there were many problems; the old tiles were not capable of being re-laid and there were many gaps, letting in water, leaf debris and insects. I employed them to reroof the entire property with the hand-made tiles that were recommended by the local conservation officer. The work was done expertly and expeditiously - and to a very high standard, even with all the original leadwork now replaced. Highly recommended. 5 stars

Despite premium prices, I am sorry to say that I did not receive premium workmanship. The roof looked good on completion; the Welsh slates are beautiful. But GNR did not address the chimney leak and left that for me to deal with later-- GNR blamed solar panel installers instead when a leak developed shortly after GNR left site. GNR sad they would revert to check out another problem, but they failed to do so. The truth is that the chimney stack needed quite a lot of further work and rectification to be watertight. I am afraid GNR simply did not do that. GNR cost a lot more than other other quote I received, but I paid premium expecting premium workmanship. The slate roofing was excellent, but the chimney was not properly attended to. And the workers left my bathroom dirty on one occasion.

An exceptional firm of roofers. Certainly the best we have used .. promptly responding to our initial enquiry, efficient, courteous and, even more importantly, they have carried out our roof work to the highest quality standards. Even the scaffolding came down the morning after the building work was finished with no delay. They may not be the cheapest but it’s worth spending as much as you can afford on a roof - it will give you payback over time!
