As the nights start to draw in, Yorkshire is lighting up with big announcements, new events, and unforgettable experiences. From Lewis Capaldi preparing to take over Roundhay Park with his biggest outdoor show yet, to the return of the Pocklington Food and Drink Festival and the arrival of Candlelight concerts in Leeds, the county is buzzing with culture, music, and community spirit. September offers, Halloween fun, and family-friendly activities are all ready to make the next few weeks one to remember.

Residents at Greenacres Care Home in Holmfirth enjoyed a special performance by Lindley Community Brass Band on 18 September, fulfilling a resident request and sparking cherished memories through music, cheese, and wine.

Featherstone Rovers’ proud mining roots are being celebrated with a new blue plaque and the “Rugby Boots and Mining Roots” project, supported by Wakefield Council, highlighting the town’s unique link between rugby league, coal mining, and community heritage.

Bridlington’s 18-year-old boxing star Oliver Male, a five-time national champion, is set to represent England at the Under 19 European Boxing Championships in the Czech Republic this month, backed by local sponsor Soanes Poultry of Driffield, who are supporting his training and nutrition.

Life Class, a new music theatre production premiering at Bradford 2025, brings together professional performers and a chorus of local over-60s to explore ageing with humour, music, and powerful storytelling.

Lewis Capaldi will headline Roundhay Park in Leeds on 4 July 2026 as part of his biggest outdoor tour yet. Tickets went on sale on 19 September.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, with Headingley set to host five thrilling matches featuring England, Australia, India, Pakistan, West Indies and more.

Big Kid Circus brings its 20th-anniversary show Kingdom of Kong to Xscape Yorkshire in Castleford from 24–28 September 2025, featuring international acrobats, Europe’s first all-female Globe of Death riders, comedy clowns, and a towering 30-foot King Kong.

Alex Warren will bring his first-ever UK & Europe arena tour to Leeds’ First Direct Arena on Wednesday 29 April 2026, with tickets on general sale from Friday 26 September 2025 and presales launching Tuesday 23 September.

Wentworth Woodhouse will host its first-ever Steampunk Weekend on 27–28 September, filling the grand Georgian house with stalls, exhibitions, live entertainment, and imaginative steam-powered creativity for a unique family-friendly event.

The Pocklington Food and Drink Festival returns on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 October 2025, filling the Market Place and Market Street with street food, craft bars, artisan groceries, handmade crafts, live music, comedy, and family activities for a full weekend of East Yorkshire community celebration.

The Leeds International Festival of Ideas returns from 14–18 October 2025 at Leeds Playhouse with five packed days of talks, debates, and headline speakers including Chuck D, Vicky McClure, Caitlin Moran, and David Baddiel.

The Deep in Hull hosts its next Dive Deeper evening on Wednesday 22 October 2025 at 6:30pm, with talks on Greenland sharks, behind-the-scenes shark care, and global conservation.

Epic Yorkshire, a stunning new drone and time-lapse film by Christian Wilkinson, will be shown for free at Bradford Movie Makers on 25 October at 7pm, with an additional Archive Films Day on 29 November, both part of the city’s UK City of Culture celebrations.

Wold Top Brewery in the Yorkshire Wolds is hosting a Halloween Singo Bingo and Quiz Night on Saturday 31 October 2025 from 7pm, with tickets at £15 including entry and a pint, plus optional camping at £12 per pitch – a spooky evening of music bingo, trivia, and award-winning beers on a working farm.

Families can enjoy free Halloween fun at LEGO Stores in Leeds (Trinity, LS1 5AT) and Sheffield (Meadowhall, S9 1EN) from 24–31 October 2025, with pumpkin hunts, sticker rewards, Frankenstein headbands, a limited-edition passport stamp, and a special free ‘Witch Build’ event on 25–26 October where kids can make and take home their own LEGO model.

The global Candlelight concert series arrives in Leeds on 8 November at St George’s Church, with thousands of candles setting the scene for two shows – Rings and Dragons at 6pm and Ed Sheeran Meets Coldplay at 8.30pm.

Manvers Lake in South Yorkshire is set for a £14 million white water rapids course combining Olympic-level paddlesport training with a national rescue centre for emergency services, with plans now moving forward following a stakeholder event on 25 September.
