As stations go, this one has the least amenity I've seen. The added access routes/elevators are obviously a great plus for those who need it but considering the amount of traffic that comes through here, an every day route for the large student population, one ticket machine on one platform is poor. Not very regular and lots of cancelled trains as with any northern railway so feels like cattle transport. It's just run down.

Steep steps up and not maintained in muddy slippery condition. **Update**summer 2019 Rebuilt access, including new stairway- now easy to use.
