I find Burton Croft a very positive, progressive and supportive practice. Nurses, receptionists and GP's & behind the scenes staff want to consistently deliver the best service and this is encouraging. They are 100% reliable for appointments - staff approachable, efficient and helpful and really lovely to deal even when it is crazy busy for them.
I am giving a 5 star review simply for the very helpful and caring response I received in relation to my request for an appointment. Although I will be unlikely to receive treatment on the NHS for my condition, Dr Peckham went out of her way to try and resolve my problem and helped me explore other ways to get treatment.
Useless. Reception charged me to fill out a form which should have been free, took two months to fill it out and an extra two weeks to email it to me as requested only for the file to not be viewable. Staff are friendly but don't waste your time with this surgery.
You can no longer phone up for an appointment. I guess this decision has been made to reduce patient numbers by killing off the old folk. Shame on you. I will find an alternative practice.
Pre covid this was an excellent surgery and it was always possible to get an appointment either the same day or very shortly afterwards. Post Covid it’s incredibly difficult to get anything at all. The phone lines open at 8.30am and even if you ring at the moment they open you get the ‘we are experiencing a very high volume of calls…’. Whatever time of day or week you call this is what you get. The other day I was number 9 in the queue and it took 27 minutes to get to number 1. When my call was finally put through the phone just rang and rang. I hung up after another 10 minutes. The reason I was ringing is because they had failed to send the correct prescription down to the pharmacy. I need the medicine as a matter of urgency but the only way I can get it is to leave work to go there in person. I can’t understand why, 2 years after the pandemic the surgery hasn’t seemed to address the call waiting times. If there’s a high volume of calls at all times of the day/week then hire more staff?!? Patients are without doubt going without vital care because of the way things are.
