Holly Bank Surgery

I had a wonderful experience at Holly Bank Surgery today. I was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment quickly, and I was fortunate to have Dr. S Ali as my doctor. Dr. S Ali was not only professional but also incredibly compassionate. She took the time to make me feel comfortable and at ease during my appointment. What stood out to me the most was Dr. Ali's genuine interest in getting to know me, including asking about my home country. This thoughtful approach really helped alleviate my tension, especially since it was my first NHS appointment since arriving in the UK. I appreciate the care and attention I received at Holly Bank Surgery and their commitment to follow up with my tests, and I'm grateful for Dr. S Ali's kindness and professionalism.

The practice seems to be filling up with a new breed of doctor who doesn't appear to care about their patients at all. Their only objectives appear to be to get you to take as much medication as possible (as this is the only answer they have) and then to get you out of there as quickly as possible. I was asked to take blood pressure readings for a week at home which I did. When I gave the readings to the doctor she had no interest in them and has done nothing with them, they're not even mentioned on my medical record. Another doctor I saw had no interest in helping me when I reported serious issues with my mental health, she said I could try and claim benefits if I was sacked for being off work! Not one ounce of sympathy, empathy or competence.

I understand that receptionists in medical practices are under a lot of pressure, but that does not give them a right to be rude. The receptionist interrupted, was not interested in hearing about my concern and made me feel stupid for seeking medical advice. I’ve never come across a worse receptionist to be honest.

Never have an issue getting an appointment. All staff are lovely. I had a consultation with Dr Davina today who was so nice and caring. Thank you for all the hard work you do.

Holly Bank have been an incredibly helpful GP for me. Efficient and fast every time I've needed them and the receptionists have been lovely over the phone. Even recommended them to 3 of my friends and got them to transfer. Would recommend!
