This is a fantastic corner shop with great deals on drinks and everyday essentials. The prices are unbeatable, the staff is friendly, and the selection is impressive. A top spot for convenience and value!

Honestly, where to start!? Just as it says on the tin you first walk into the shop (more like magical land) and BOOM straight on the left is the news! All the papers you could wish for, and to make the entrance even greater, BOOM! Ice creams on the right in the fridge! Just when it seems all to good to be true, the shop delivers it's promise yet again, as in your eyeline down at the back in the fridges, what do you see? The booze! The news and the booze all within two glances, now you've been given everything you were promised, time to explore the rest of this place. You've got the crisps (personally recommend the purple nik naks), then there's more news with magazines, even after they deliver they deliver again! Then there's sweets galore, biscuits, pot noodles you name it. Running low on household NECESSITIEES? No need to pop to Waitrose or Aldi, Meanwood News & Booze have got you sorted, soap, shower gel, toothpaste spam! Whatever you need this place has it. Recommend a visit to anyone with feet, access to a train or a bus, or their own car, because of course, they've got parking space! And once you've got a bottle of wine and todays headlines covered, treat yourself to an elf bar and a scratchy, why not eh!?

This shop has always come in clutch when others have closed and I've needed something urgently/last minute. They also have an excellent selection of craft beers and the staff are always friendly.

Walking into this shop is like that scene on Charlie and the chocolate factory where they all walk into sweetie heaven for the first time and see the world in a new light. The difference is no one will perish at the hands of a freak confectionery related accident and it truly is an oasis. I didn't believe in a higher power until I walked into Meanwood News and booze and realised something like that couldn't just be chance. I walked in there a boy and came out a man. If you are within 1000 miles of this shop, it is worth the diversion to go and visit. It changed my life and will change yours too. Thank you Meanwood news and Booze, for everything.
