If you like a clean, well maintained hotel room, this isn't for you. The positives were: free parking, good situation, warm room, clean bedding and towels and pleasant staff. That's it😦 The room we had was very dated and dark with totally inadequate lighting, an ancient carpet, which didn't look clean, wallpaper peeling off the ceilings in the bedroom and ensuite, due to water damage, stains on all of the walls. The ensuite was awful, with an electric shower that literally trickled out of the shower head! I haven't stayed in a worse hotel and I couldn't/wouldn't recommend it.

This is great as a very bare bones hostel. The highlights were the very friendly staff and the £7 Full English Breakfast. Room was clean and as advertised but expect a very small room up steep stairs and tiny shared bathroom. A bit of a smell (from cigarettes?) and rather old fixtures. But for what I needed (a cheap place near the university) it was great. Just don't expect luxury!

Had a terrible experience at this hotel. The room was ancient, and the bathroom was in such poor condition that I’m honestly not sure how this place is even allowed to sell rooms. On top of that, I heard strange noises throughout the night, making it impossible to sleep. Overall, it felt unsafe and unhygienic. I definitely would not recommend staying here.

We loved the old fashioned style of the place, and didn’t mind at all that it’s not modern… it was a really nice place, and also good parking. Helpful staff too! We had a really nice few days there. Thank you! 😀

Very good value if you're just looking for somewhere cheap to spend the night. No real complaints with my room, the bed was comfy and the linens good quality and clean, and it had tea and coffee in the room. It was however fairly shabby throughout and although the room was clean, the shared bathroom was pretty dirty. Appreciated that you can have a light breakfast for a couple of quid. Staff were pleasant. Peak "you get what you pay for" but I'd stay again next time I'm at a gig nearby. Not the place to go if you want a nice break but it does the job.
