There are 2 main points for this review really. For what seemed like a fairly well presented sandwich shop, in a busy tourist hotspot, I was expecting good quality and a decent size for the prices stated. Unfortunately, I ordered one of their sandwiches which contained a portobello mushroom and received something with was massively undersized for in the region of £7.50 - the sandwich contained one singular £2 coin sized mushroom, some rocket, and a sprinkling of bagged grated cheese. No quality whatsoever. For the price paid, the appearance of the store, perhaps consider making your products better presented, use quality ingredients and showcase yourselves as the people to come to for a light bite. Second, whilst I support encouraging youth opportunities. It was apparent that the team h were not sufficiently supported and had little to no experience with service. There was limited communication between the kitchen and till (5 metres away) during an outage of the grill, cutlery and essentials like sugar etc. weren’t readily provided, and their ability to troubleshoot in the face of difficulties behind the scenes was absent. Please consider giving your team some training and be available to support them. I suggest avoiding here unless things change. There’s plenty of other, more affordable and friendly, options just around the corner. We will not be returning, but hope you take on this feedback.
We had the fish tower. Excellent sandwiches, good service. We had a brass band playing behind us too. Lovely atmosphere at Christmas time
I got the vegan meatball sandwich here - a bit disappointed with the size, and how dry the bread and meatballs were. Also it took a strangely long time to get made! But the flavour was decent and the location of the cafe is good
Underwhelming, main menu off by 2pm. Resorted to a prawn salad sandwich from the classics - shop bought bread and iceberg lettuce (delivery arrived in front of us).
Me and my wife were looking forward to a nice lunch here, based on the high prices advertised. However, before the food even arrived we were greeted with an unappealing smell of grease, and tacky decor. The sandwiches looked carelessly thrown together and sloppy, not to mention the stale taste. You could get a better sandwich in a tescos meal deal. Staff were nice, but owner clearly needs to have a good look at the food quality and the shop. Profit seems to come before customers here. Lots of better options in Hebden Bridge, bit of a tourist trap.
