What a cracking spot. The subs are just insanely tasty! Lovely staff to greet you, and very good service. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients. This history around the conception of the place is awesome, too. Give it a whirl, you won’t find a better sandwich this side of the pond! Great work to the team. We’ll see you again soon!!
Me and my wife ate here for the first time after finding out about it on Instagram. I can happily say it lived upto the hype. The woman that served us was lovely and chatty and explained all the sandwiches when we entered with our springer spaniel after a long walk. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since I ate it. Sadly we live 1.5 hours away but we will definitely be back on our regular visits to Hebden Bridge!
Atmosphere: Seems everyone is pretty chill, nothing to OTT. Nice and calm. Service: be prepared to wait a while for Subs as to be expected if it’s busy. But there is seating inside and obviously cooked fresh. Pricing is obviously at the high end but the taste justifies it and mid week they have a meal deal so I feel it’s worth the indulgence. I’d rather pay for this and have proper food than a supermarket butty which won’t keep me full or have the contents only cover 40% of the bread. Food: had a few Ceaser Subs, no bacon today which I tried the Sloppy Joe instead. The taste I have to say was exceptional. MAYO/ please don’t try changing this as it’s perfect, the Ragu is balanced and definitely feels its quality products used. The crispy onions is definitely needed for texture and the Ham is perfect for the extra bit of saltiness to balance the onions. Perfect taste. However, if it had to be improved, I’d definitely ask for it to be cut in half and with a spoon or fork as it does what it says on the tin: SSLOPPYY! 😂 but I know to ask for next time. Bit gutted I wasn’t given them crisps but after reading the comments they’ve taken it away in hot subs so I can forgive that 🩷
Fantastic subs, tasty ice-cream by lovely folks. Highly recommended!
It's a cool place and the guy working there was very welcoming. But, it's a tenner for a veg butty. 3 quid for a can of pop. I know business rates are high in Hebden so it's all good but the butty was just OK. Had 'All The Veg'. Nothing stood out. Artichoke, lettuce, onion, sun-dried tomatoes, oil, vinegar. Mine had a shed load of oil on it! Was tricky to eat. It was like it was missing an important ingredient to make it stand out. Lots of potential but the vegan option needs sorting out. You get crisps in the bag which is very generous. I wish them luck, I do. Not sure I'll go back.
