We are here twice in our long weekend. Fabulous food, place and most of all great staff. With it's location it would make a fortune being mediocre but everything was top. The Sunday roast and the special game pudding we're particular highlights.
Such lovely views and vibes here. The lady who served us was dead lovely! Lots of people sat with their dogs outside and the service was fast!!
Always consistently lovely. Really good range of drinks and particularly real ale, a very good food choice and always friendly excellent service. We have dined here perhaps 10 times over recent years. A good place for a mixed age family get together and the young staff usually manage to get a bit of pleasant chit chat going. Only slight downside is that the place can get busy and you risk feeling in the way wherever you stand. That said, the bar staff serve quickly so you are never waiting for long. Book for a table for food, if you are dining is my tip. Dont just rock up and hope for the best. The food is very good and while priced on the top side for pub food, it is good quality and worth it. Its slightly more on the 'pile it high' side rather than be in the snobby small portion fine dining camp. Tip is included in the bill. I was slightly abashed that my lamb shank arrived swimming in gravy rather than it be in a splash of jus or minty sauce which rather swamped the dish, but it was incredibly filling and tasty nevertheless. Just a bit more 'gravy' tasting than I wanted. Not gone for 5 stars as while it's a very good choice it didnt leave me with a wow. 4.5 stars if I could.
Great pub with lovely food, drink and service, only had sandwiches but all were different and everyone enjoyed
November 2025: good range of food and drinks; great service from the staff and a good atmosphere here. Dog friendly in the bar area.
