The Book Case

Excellent independent bookshop. I visited at least once a year when I'm over seeing my brother-in-law who lives locally. Always ordered my books by email, as I travel from Paris. Extremely good service. Highly recommend 👌 💯

A well-established independent bookshop with a respectable selection, but let down by persistently poor customer service. On entering, you’re rarely acknowledged — even when the shop is empty — and staff often avoid eye contact or greeting. Enquiries are too often met with reluctance, disinterest, or a condescending tone, making for an unwelcoming atmosphere. After several such experiences, this once-regular local customer will now be ordering elsewhere.

Highly recommend a wander around this independent book store! A wide range of novels to choose from, such a cute little shop and friendly customer service. Can’t wait to read the adult fairy tales book I bought!

I love this independent bookstore, I always pop in here last thing when I visit Hebden because I know I'll come away with at least a couple of new books. Really friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere to browse in.
