Probably the worse meal I’ve ever had. Not used grand ruby for a while, wish I hadn’t bothered returning. Portions were huge but everything tasted sweaty and re cooked, even the chips and noodles. Beef and mushroom dish tasted of a moist slipper. Noodles had the consistency of a tub of congealed porridge. The chips tasted like they’d been re cooked in cold cheap engine oil. Tasted like wet mouldy cardboard.. The fortune cookies were damp and soft and smelled like the 1970’s… £52 not well spent.

Always had great food from Grand Ruby. Had King Prawn with green pepper in black bean sauce with egg fried rice and a large spring/pancake roll. The large spring/pancake roll was lovely. Contains bean sprouts, little pieces of meat and prawns. The King prawns on the main dish were perfectly cooked and very "tender." The dish itself is a real quality dish whether with King prawns or any other meat, poultry or vegetables. They also do some lovely curries, particularly the house special.

We was staying at Green Meadows Park in the lodges and fancied a takeaway one night and the Grand Ruby came as recommended in the lodge pack. After reading the bad reviews I was a bit 50/50 but it was local so decided to give it a try and wow- it was lovely! 💗 We had noodles, egg fried rice, chicken with cashew, beef in black bean, spring rolls then salt & pepper chicken and salt & pepper chips (fyi- the s&p dishes are on the spicy side). They provided good portions, reasonable prices and nice food 😋 I must say I agree with previous reviews about the slightly rude front of house girls, possibly their first job & they’re still young- but let’s be real, you don’t go to a chinese takeaway for the front of house so can’t really knock them for it😂 All round a decent chinese for some nice food 😊

Wish I had read the reviews. Was so happy that we had found a local Chinese but … I ordered 5 different dishes and everything tasted the same! And the taste was not good. Sorry, will not be going again.
