Had my first experience with Hedon Group Practice today and they were brilliant. Filled in an online form this morning for a suspected blood clot. Had an appointment at 11:20 with Mary Orija and she was amazing. Phoned the DVT clinic in Hull while I was there and got me an appointment for an ultrasound at 14:10. She spent quite a while on the phone having to answer a lot of questions from the receptionist at the hospital and she was incredibly patient. I feel as though I’ve had a great first experience and thankfully, although I have two blood clots, it’s nothing serious.
Well what can I say, the triage process is soooo long before you can book an appointment online and even if you're not a fan of doing things online, when you ring up it's the same. Took mam for pain in her knee, doctor said think it's probably arthritis and gave her paracetamol and ibuprofen gel, which hasn't had any effect on her pain, so will be taking her back. In the summer she was suffering with an allergy and I mentioned it in Boots, I was suprised and amazed that they gave her some anti histamine tablets and eye drops, my son has had hayfever for years and even he didn't know you could get eye drops for this condition.
The new system for requesting a doctors appointment. This system does not cater for the older patients tha have no smart phone/tablet skills. The other day whilst waiting in the surgery observed a older lady asking for appointment and she was told she had to use the online system. She couldn't understand so the receptionist was trying to show her how to use the site tablet. The menu is so complicated for her to understand but your receptionist was doing her best to help. After about 20 minutes she finally got sorted. But the lady was very distressed by this time. Also a older man came in to request a appointment and was was again told to fill in on line request form .Again he had no idea how to do this and walked out ! .There needs to be a alternative way for our older generation that are not computer savvy and less stressful to request a doctors appointment. This also took up 20 minutes on and off of your receptionists valuable time. George Pearson.
In room K and went in for bloods and a ECG honestly never felt so comfortable in a doctor room before, these 2 absolutely lovely lady’s Sarah K and Lauren, was in the room with me. Sarah took my bloods so amazingly and didn’t even hurt the slightest! I was so relived! And Lauren has such a funny bubbly character about her and just needed to put a review on about these lovely 2 ladies. THANK YOU so much!
The fact that my mum at 84 years old cannot ring up to book an appointment and is expected to go online to book is really poor service. She doesnt have the internet or even anything to access the service on line with. What are people without these items meant to do?
