Not a frequent visitor but I have to give a review as Heeley Church has meant a lot to my family since the 50’s. My Great Grandparents moved from Hathersage to Sheffield in the 50’s and lived opposite the main entrance gates and a few years later my Great Grandfather became the caretaker spending lots of time with me following him around and as I’m told making a right mess throwing coal all around trying to get it in the boiler. This was followed by my Parents marrying there in 1961 and spending a lot of time in and around the church until we moved house in 1976. Heeley Church is a beautiful building both inside and out and now that my parents have left us it often puts a lump in my throat thinking how much my Mum and Dad loved it when I look back through all the photos. We went and had photographs took of Mum and Dad on their 50th wedding anniversary stood in front of the main doors and inside as they did on June 17th 1961 so my memories are of 2 very special parents who loved the very beautiful building that is Heeley Church.

Nice church. Got married there 60 years ago. Christen both of my son's there. A lot of my wife family were married there and also buried there. Call there a few weeks ago to tend to the graves and we're invited to the cafe. Very friendly staff.

The gates are open at the moment so if anyone wants to donate food to their food bank it's very easy, just pop it in the bucket out front still. But the church itself is closed apparently? Lovely gardens!

Went there for a friend's wedding. It's a beautiful building which has been sympathetically restored. Though I am not of the denomination, I was made welcome by everyone there. The vicar who conducted the ceremony was very entertaining. And though I am not religious I would recommend this church.
