A small library with lots of very helpful volunteer staff. There are plenty of free parking spaces nearby. They don't have a kiosk for auto checkout of books. The only drawback is that they are not open everyday especially after school hours. Always check opening hours before going.
Library does community events as well as lending books. Quite small but they fit quite a bit in all the same. Has a few computers with Internet access. Unfortunately Internet access is quite slow but it's useful for those who don't have their own connection and rely on publicly available Internet. The policy on children seems out of sync with other libraries and a bit excessively applied at times. They are essentially banned if under 18 and not accompanied. I don't think this encourages young people to use libraries and sadly they don't need additional barriers these days. This is something I think the library could work on.
Just been to Friday coffee morning in newfield green library. Very friendly and drink and biscuits for 50 pence. Did my shopping afterwards while I was there. The library is also open on Mondays.
A struggling community library doing as much as they can to attract people in to use the service. Staff are fantastic but library itself aleays feels a bit dark and dingy.
