We sold a property with Whitehornes in late 2025, they did a fantastic job from start to finish. The marketing was excellent, with great photos and additional videos for social media. They did viewings on our behalf which were very well managed. The app kept us updated in real time. Once the sales offer was accepted, they continued to support the whole process, liaising with solicitors, going over and beyond to complete the chain in a timely and efficient manner. Professional, proactive, and highly recommended.
We recently used Whitehornes to sell our property and they were brilliant! Great communication, efficient, helpful and friendly. The app they provide is so user friendly and a great way to keep on top of viewings and feedback etc. Kerry and the team are wonderful and I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of selling their property.
In late 2023, I was a first time buyer in the process of purchasing a house through Whitehornes. The house had previously had an offer agreed with another buyer but they had withdrawn. Whitehornes said this was because the buyer had accepted a job offer in a different city. Before making my offer, I asked Whitehornes at which stage the previous buyers withdrew and if anything had come up in the survey that would be useful to my offer. I was thinking that it was better to know about these things now and it would save time renegotiating if things were discovered later. Whitehornes verbally reassured me that nothing had come up in the survey and I should make an offer as if the house were in sound condition. When I put this same question to them in writing, they were much more evasive and didn't really answer the question. I thought this was strange. It was also strange that for a house in 'sound condition' I needed to delay my building survey while the seller had the gutters repaired, and that a damp proof treatment had been applied in the time since the previous buyers had pulled out of their purchase. This is all despite the house being empty during this time. Over the phone, Whitehornes reassured me that the seller was very diligent and wanted to leave the house to me in the best condition possible. (The seller would later try to obstruct my surveyor from doing their job, which now makes this hard to believe.) Throughout this time I had been using Whitehornes recommended mortgage advisor (Mortgage Advice UK) and I believe the advisor (Kerry Lambert) worked out of the Whitehornes office. At various points while interacting with her she tried to convince me to get a cheap survey or no survey at all. This was outside the scope of her role as my mortgage advisor. I remember laughing with my friends about how terrible this advice was for a first time buyer of a 120-year-old house. Eventually, I was able to carry out the survey and was very surprised to discover that £20k-£30k of immediate repairs needed to be completed on the property. These were obvious repairs like a new roof and repointing, which I would expect to have been picked up on a previous survey. To me, the strange interactions with Whitehornes make a lot of sense if they were aware of the condition of the property and tried to hide it from me. Ultimately, I pulled out of the purchase because I wasn't willing to continue at the agreed price and I didn't want to negotiate with a party that I believe acted dishonestly. The whole process cost me £1,600. The seller will also have wasted time and money. My issue with Whitehornes is not that they didn't disclose information, which the seller might not have given them permission to do. My issue is that I believe they (and their in-house mortgage advisor) were misleading and actively tried to hide things from me. All so they could make an easy sale on the house. I think it's disgraceful that they would try to encourage a first time buyer into such an expensive mistake just to make a few quid in commission. I have waited until I purchased another property (fortunately not through Whitehornes) before posting this review online.
Very personable, friendly & helpful staff that work hard to sell your property. I found communication to be straightforward and realistic. They were very mindful that our sale arose from a bereavement which helped a lot. They maintained very good communications between ourselves, solicitors and buyers and the inevitable snags were quickly resolved.
The whole process of renting a property with Whitehornes was simple and easy. Natalie made sure things were well explained and responded to my emails quickly.
